Thodupuzha, 24th April: Dhronacharya K P Thomas inaugurated the 36th edition of Kerala State Youth  Basketball Championship .at Shanthal Jyothi Public School Flood lit Indoor Stadium Muttam.

In the preliminary matches of the day in  Girls division Pathanathitta girls got better of  Palakkad 32-22 and in another match in Boys division Kollam defeated Malapuram 32-20.

The four day  championship will feature teams from  14 District in boys section and 13 district teams for  Girls section.The championship will be played on a knock out basis. 

The State Championship will be a prelude to the 36th Youth National Championship to be held at Coimbatore from 14th  to 21st  May .
