Thodupuzha, 25th April:  Boys and Girls teams of Thrissur, Kottayam boys and Thiruvanthapuram Girls  entered the Semi Finals of the 36th edition of Kerala State Youth  Basketball Championship  organised by Idukki District Basketball Assocation at Shanthal Jyothi Public School Flood lit Indoor Stadium, Muttam.

In the quarter final matches, Thrissur boys defeated Alapuzha by a score line of 52-28 while Thrissur girls had an easy victory over Wayanad by a margin 46-13.

In other quarter final matches for boys, Kottayam defeated Pathanamthitta (58-28) while in girls category Thiruvanthapuram had an easy victory over Alapuzha (32-7)

In the pre quarter final matches for boys, host Idukki  defeated Kasargod(43-27) then Pathanamthitta defeated Kannur (55-32), Kozhikode beats Kollam (60-11)  Alapuzha defeated Palakkad (30-12).

In pre quarter final matches for girls,Ernakulum beat Pathanamthitta(50-38),Kottayam beat Malapuram (35-6), Wayanad beat Kasargod(24-18) and Alapuzha scrape past Kollam (59-54).
