Changsha, China, 23rd May 2019: Despite winning two out of their three Qualifying Draw games, both the Indian men's and women’s teams bowed out of the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup 2019.
Earlier today, the Indian women beat Maldives (18-12) but later lost to Thailand (15-21), while the men beat Vanuatu (21-10) and then lost to South Korea (20-19).
In the women’s section, Thailand’s defence did a good job by preventing any easy outside shooting opportunities for India’s guards Raspreet Sidhu and Bhandavya HM.
The men had it expectedly easy against Vanuatu, and went toe to toe with South Korea before eventually suffering the late game heartbreak.
Only one team from each Qualifying Draw Pool progressed to the Main Draw, which meant that Indian teams, despite 2-1 records, were eliminated.
